Artificial turf gets so hot because it is polyprorolene and crumb rubber being subjected to direct sunlight. University research and real world experience show the effects from watering an artificial field to cool it only last about 20 minutes.

Did you know that a natural turf surface is actually a couple degrees COOLER than the ambient temp? (Due to the plant's transipration.  More info to come....)
